General Info

  • Click the Start button.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click Printers.
  • Double click Add Printer.
  • Click Next.
  • Select Network Printer.
  • Type network path or queue name. If you are trying to install the printer anda in room B-114 you would type \\CRONOS\anda in the window as shown below.
  • Then select whether you print from MS-DOS-based programs. Typically No is selected.
  • Select Next.
  • Then select Manufacturer and Printers. For aforementioned printer we select HP and HP LaserJet 4Si or HP LaserJet 4Si/4SiMX PS.
  • Then select Next.
  • You then may see the following screen if you have the driver for that printer already installed.
  • It is recommended that you keep the existing driver unless you have an updated driver.
  • Then select Next.
  • You will then be asked to type a name for the printer (or accept the supplied name) and select whether you want this printer to be your default printer.
  • Select Next.
  • You will then be asked if you want to print a test page to see if your printer is set up properly. This is recommended.
  • That printer should now be properly installed.
