ECS has installed Columbia AppleTalk Package on pinky.rutgers.edu to allow Macintosh
users to access their home directories directly from the Mac. This gives Mac usres
the same level of access as Windows users have.
To access your home directory or the public directory, follow these steps.
- Click on the Apple Menu and select "Chooser".
- Select "AppleShare" from the left side of the window.
- Select "Server IP Address..." from the right side of the window.
- Enter "pinky.rutgers.edu" in the 'Server Address:' space.
- Enter your COEALL username and password and click "Connect".
Your COEALL username is your pinky/DSV lab username.
- Select an AppleShare from the window, ie. your directory or a public one.
- The Share should appear on your desktop.
To log out of the Share:
Drag the ShareIcon to your Trash like a regular floppy or CD-Rom
